What a day it was working as a Bisham Abbey Wedding Photographer for this beautiful winter wedding in Buckinghamshire. It provided everything a photographer dreams of for a wedding day. A stunning church with a backdrop of stormy skies coupled with a river and a rainbow which pretty much set the scene for what turned out to be a day filled with perfect timing and luck. Every time we needed a break from the rain to shoot portraits the clouds broke and treated us to some gorgeous soft winter light.
My day as a Bisham Abbey Wedding Photographer started at the All Saints Church just off the main high street in Marlow. It is a stunning church sitting right on the banks of the beautiful river Thames. Following an intimate church ceremony, it was a short drive back the historic Bisham Abbey for the wedding breakfast and reception. Bisham Abbey is a lovely thirteenth-century wedding venue famous for being the former home of Henry the VIII.
As the Bisham Abbey Wedding Photographer, I kept my fingers crossed for an opportunity to shoot some couples portraits in lovely light right on the river. Luckily, the winter weather did not disappoint, immediately after shooting formals with close family and friends we walked over to the river banks to make the most of the break in the clouds. The timing couldn’t have been better as we had stunning light for around thirty minutes which was just enough time to get some lovely portraits of the newlyweds.
One of the more challenging shots to pull off at a wedding is the sparkler tunnel. It takes a fair amount of coordination to ensure all the sparklers are lit at the right time, the tube is large enough not put the couple danger, and the lighting is correct as to produce a flattering image without overpowering the sparklers. With a quick training session for the very keen and excited groomsmen and a little coordination, we were able to pull it off correctly without any issues, and at the request of the bride, we even threw in a bit of sparkler writing for good measure.
If you are looking for a Bisham Abbey Wedding Photographer and would like to find out more about my style and approach, please feel free to contact me. I shoot in an unobtrusive manner which focuses on candid moments and emotions from your big day. Although I am passionate about documenting the day as it unfolds, I aim to spend a small amount of time with the newlyweds to produce some intimate and unique couples portraits that can make beautiful prints or full-page spreads in a wedding album.
